Even watching high level play of Valorant, I don’t see anywhere near the same level of complexity and depth that OW has, it’s night and day. I can see that clearly with my friends in particular, in OW most of my friends still don’t understand aspects of the game even after playing it for some time but when we started playing Valorant, we all immediately understood how to play it and how simple it is. Valorant does have it’s depth but, understanding Valorant is much easier than understanding OW. As someone who has played mostly hitscans in OW I have to say that I find aiming in Valorant way easier and I can’t help but think that people who think otherwise probably haven’t even played OW or understand how complex the game actually is. In OW there is a lot going on in fights, there are many more potential targets to shoot at, there are characters that literally fly or jump around and above you like crazy, there are many abilities in play and you need to be able to adapt to all of this in order to aim at them. In Valorant, if you understand crosshair positioning, then 90% of the time you will only make micro adjustments in order to aim at enemies and having good positioning helps a lot with this at well. I have often seen people critize OW aim requirements as not being hard or complex enough, and that games like Valorant are more aim intensive, this is simply not true, and I am surprised to see how simple it is to aim in Valorant compared to Overwatch. I don’t mean to attack Valorant in the slightest, I understand they are very different games and I’m enjoying Valorant a lot, this is just observations that I have now that I have actually played both games. That being said, now that I’m playing that type of game I can’t help but question a lot of the notions that I have seen “around” about these games. I’ve been playing Valorant since it released and I have to admit I’m having a good time.
